CALL FOR ENTRIES

The Boston Latino International Film Festival (BLIFF), "Bridging Communities Through Movies", will screen and award the best of the latest videos and film works in the following categories: Feature Film, Documentary, Short Feature, and a special prize for the best local work (US East Coast). The festival will be held during the months of October and November 2004, the specific dates have to be confirmed yet.

The BLIFF Selection Committee, representing the diversity of the greater Boston area, will select the films and videos to be screened during the upcoming festival. To be eligible, the committee will look for innovative works that are by, about, or for the Latino community and that have been produced between 1999-2004.

The following formats are accepted for submission:
Film: 35mm, 16mm,Video: VHS, Beta (NTSC) and Digital: DV and Mini DV

All entries will be pre-screened for eligibility by the Selection Committee; however, not all entries will be programmed. If your work is selected, you will be notified no later than September 1, 2004 to send the work in its original format.

To enter a work, please submit each of the following:
1. Completed Entry Form (attached/next page)
2. Brief synopsis (40 words)
3. Bios (actors, producer, & director)
4. Two (2) VHS video copies of entry (NTSC) or DVD copies
5. Still photos (300 dpi if submitted electronically)

Unless you indicate otherwise, preview tapes will not be returned.

NOTICE: ALL PIECES IN SPANISH MUST HAVE ENGLISH SUBTITLES.

The shipping cost of any film, video and/or promotional material to the Festival is the sole responsibility of the owner/distributor. The Festival is responsible for the return shipping of the film/video to its owner/distributor.

Our staff will take every precaution in handling all films and videos. However, the Boston Latino International Film Festival cannot accept or assume responsibility for damage to, or loss of, materials submitted.

- I am duly authorized, on my behalf and on behalf of any person or entity who has ownership rights in the film, to submit this film to the festival and I represent that this submission will not violate any law or any right of the person.
- I hold the Boston Latino International Film Festival, their fiscal sponsor, and their affiliated and related entities, harmless from any damage to, or loss of the print of the film or any other materials submitted by me hereunder en route to or from the festival or otherwise during the course of the Festival's possession of the film.

- If my film/video is selected, unless otherwise indicated, I grant the Festival permission to keep the preview video in the Festival video library which is available for research, educational and/or noncommercial screenings.
