| Jose, a Peruvian / American that was
born in Los Angeles has been with the Festival since
its beginning. Jose arrived in Boston from Los Angeles
four years ago with the crazy idea of enjoying the Boston
weather. He founded the BLIFF four years ago with $1,300.
He is a social psychologist by training and specializes
in Latino media in the U.S. He has worked in Los Angeles
with Telemundo, Fox Latin America, La Opinion newspaper,
and Enigma Entertainment in different executive positions.
He attended: la Universidad Catolica de Lima, la Universidad
Ricardo Palma e Lima, the University of California, Los
Angeles, and the Armando Robles Godoy Filmmaking School.
He now runs Viceversa
Communications, a small marketing / advertising company
that specializes in the Latino market in the U.S. |

Sabrina Aviles

Sabrina has worked as an independent film
and video producer for over 20 years. She earned a B.S. in Communications
from Boston University. Shortly after graduating, she immediately
found work at WGBH, New England's local PBS station, producing
national historical documentaries. As an independent producer,
Ms. Aviles oversaw productions that took her to Latin America
and Spain, where she coordinated the administrative, logistical
and creative management of documentaries and dramatic videos.
In addition to her production career, Ms. Aviles has also danced
flamenco professionally for the past 16 years, dancing, teaching
and choreographing performances in New England, as well as the
New York metropolitan area. As the former Director of the Center
for Latino Arts, Ms. Aviles was responsible for the planning,
organizing and directing of the center's arts programs and activities.
She is happy to be working once again in the film community. |

Gil Cordova is a native of El Paso, Texas.
He is a graduate of both the Wharton School of Business at the
University of Pennsylvania, and the School of Law, at St. Mary's University
in San Antonio, Texas. He has worked in the sales departments
at various media companies, including KTBC-TV in Austin, and
WXPN-FM in Philadelphia. In addition to the Boston Latino International
Film Festival, he has also volunteered with the Austin Film
Festival, and Cine Las Americas in Austin. Currently, he works
at MIT. |

Carmen
Oquendo-Villar

| Carmen Oquendo-Villar is a PhD candidate
in Romance Languages and Literatures at Harvard University.
Her doctoral dissertation is about the use of media during
the 1973 Coup in Chile. A graduate fellow at the Harvard University
Film Study Center, Carmen is currently working on filmic
vignettes about the LGBT Latin@ community in Boston. Carmen
is also a film curator, a writer and an all around cultural
attache. She's currently the producer and co-hostess of
the Cambridge Community TV show, "Cultural Agents". She
has never seen a contradiction between popcorn and good
films. |
